i guess i'll be the somewhat silent minority, then. i anxiously await the new record (no matter the band's name).

Brian - I passed your post on to Travis, as I do many postings from different sources. He loves to read feedback, regardless of the content. We receive a lot of feedback through different means and I do not recall anyone else not liking the name. Actually, it has been quite the opposite. And yes, there will be new music released this year! :)

true, but it's a matter of you hearing it first at all. for someone to give a band a chance on the radio (or wherever) in the first place, it helps a LOT to have a good name. I'm just hoping for the best, is all...I want to hear a new record.

I don't think the name of a band is going to affect anything either way. Normally when I hear music, I don't know the name of the band at first, but if I like what I hear, I will seek out the name and proceed to listen to them.

I felt the urge to mention something, from a fan's point of view. I hope this isn't taken as a slight, but I think Lettuce Olive is a really bad band name. I get that it follows in the "Artichoke" vein, but I only care because I already know that the guy can write great songs.

I wanted to mention this because, with a possible upcoming release, I imagine you'd want more people to check it out than just those that miss For Squirrels and Subrosa.

I'll check it out whatever it's called, but that's because I'm already sold on it. From the perspective of a long-time music devotee (and long-time record store employee), Lettuce Olive is a very overlookable band name. It's not a good enough name for what the band is capable of.

...said out of love,
b
